Acts Church

Acts Church is one of the many churches found in the state of Selangor. Among the many churches in the state, Acts Church is perhaps one of the younger ones. It all began in 1994 when Kenneth Chin heard the calling from God to plant a church as part of bringing revival and transformation to the youth of Malaysia and from there, spread the Word of God to the rest of the world.

Kenneth and Sandra, his wife then started the AYA or Asian Youth Ambassadors a month after getting married. This organization would continue to grow to play an important role in building the young into becoming effective Christians. Through AYA, Kenneth and Sandra exhibited the power of God through programmes and initiatives but it was not until 1999 when the church was born.

During a sponsored break to the United States, God spoke to Kenneth again and the message was clearer with more urgency. Kenneth felt that failing to plant a church would mean failing which then prompted him to take leave from the church he was serving then.

Together with 2 other adults, they met weekly at the AYA Centre for a few months and in February 2000, the Acts Church was born. 3 more members joined in while Kenneth’s wife continued to help out in their previous church. She would then join Kenneth 6 months later. Together with the group of members who started Acts Church, their mission was to raise a generation of youth who will please the Lord and before long, Acts have grown by leaps and bounds.

Acts Church has since grown into becoming one of the very prominent churches in Malaysia where it has close to 2,000 members. Its presence has spread from its original location to other parts of the Klang Valley including Cheras, Cyberjaya and Petaling Jaya as well as outside Malaysia into countries like Australia, Singapore and Botswana, among others. Acts Church carries out weekly Sunday services where there are 4 sessions available with 2 being bilingual sessions.
